Brief History about the trust
The need to have an organized body to take charge of properties and maintenance of General Sardar Sham Singh Attariwala Smadhs Complex and to hold regular meetings to provide Social, Cultural, Historical and patriotic opportunities to the people of the region has been in existence for many years. But this could be achieved only after Brig. S. General Sardar Sham Singh Attariwala Trust, owes its gratitude to all the Trustees, who will be the bearers of this Torch to carry forward and help to establish the foundation of this great organization, striving towards achieving and fighting for a noble cause, without a reflection of family intrigues, cast or creed.
Let us not forget the last words of the widow of General Sardar Sham Singh Attariwala, ‘the last satee’ of Punjab uttered before she plunged into fire, ‘Is shall which koi na koi kana kha rakda rehe ga’ So this Trust has come into being, which puts up a United Front and a pedestal for all the Trustees and the people of this area to join hands and demand from the Government the rightful recognition of this great warrior and development of the area to which he belonged and represented. We still remember Late Colonel Samer Pal Singh’s words:-
“ Had-se barre andhere to ana para mujhe
Bazme jahan mein Shamma-e- Frozan leeye hue”
Carry that ‘Shmma-e-Frozan’ forward and keep it burning forever and ever.
